White Cottage is a lovingly restored and refurbished two bedroomed traditional C17th Suffolk cottage, timber-framed with part thatch and part tiled roof. As you would expect in a property of this age, the interior features exposed beams, wooden floors and original latchdoors, as well as an open inglenook fireplace to relax by in the lounge. The cottage lies in the heart of the peaceful historic village of Hoxne, renowned for its many attractive period properties and picturesque streets.

Cottage Details

 The accomodation comprises two double bedrooms (one with a vaulted ceiling), lounge with colour TV and DVD player, dining room, fully fitted kitchen with washing machine and dishwasher, ground floor bathroom and first floor shower room. The pretty rear garden and terrace is fully secluded with mature apple trees a patio terrace with garden furniture, and we welcome a well-behaved dog.

Bed linen, towels, electricity, heating oil (October - April) and some firewood are all included - Stair gate and high chair available on request. Parking is on the village green lay-by or on the street opposite WhiteCottage. Smoking is not permitted in the cottage or garden. Some mobile phone signals are patchy. Due to steep stairs, high steps and uneven floors, the cottage may not be suitable for the less mobile visitor.

The Village

The cottage lies in the heart of the peaceful historic village of Hoxne, renowned for its many attractive period properties and picturesque streets. The historic village Inn, The Swan, is a 50 metre walk from White Cottage with a delightful waterside garden and a well-deserved reputation for traditional ales and home cooked locally-sourced food. Other local amenities include the village shop and PO, also only a short walk away.The village hosts many events throughout the year, including a Music Festival, Fetes, a Harvest Breakfast in September and a visit by Father Christmas and his Elves on Christmas Morning. There are numerous walks around the village along the rivers Dove and Waveney, with the chance to spot wildlife including Swans, Woodpeckers and Kingfishers.

Rental Details


Bookings run from Friday to Friday. We ask that you arrive after 14.30 and vacate by 10.00.

Weekend breaks (3 nights) are also available running from Friday to Monday, and Midweek breaks (Monday to Friday) are charged at 4 nights for the price of 3.

Small party reductions, alternative start dates, and single night bookings may be available - please just contact us to discuss your requirements. We request an additional £25 if you wish to bring a dog.
